Doctoral Candidate Guancheng Li
Guancheng Li is a doctoral student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kai Trampedach in SAGE, ZAW, Faculty of Philosophy. He is a member of HGGS as well as the Chinese Research Association of World Ancient and Medieval History, and is funded by the Chinese Scholarship Council. His research interests mainly focus on the cultural history and historiography in the Classical World, especially in the Hellenistic Ages. The doctoral research he is currently conducting is “Foundation Story as History: Typological Study on the Local Historiography and Identity of Greek Colonies in Ancient Asia Minor”.
He received both his B.A. (with a merit thesis: Revisiting the Construction of Seleucid Ruler-cult) and M.A. (with a merit thesis: Constructivism Study on the Foundation Stories and Historiography of Greek Poleis in Ancient Ionia) in History from Nankai University, Tianjin.
