CROSSING DISCIPLINARY BOUNDARIES
The Heidelberg Graduate School for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HGGS) cordially invites members of the six participating faculties to the HGGS WINTER FORUM on 16th January 2026 from 9 am (s.t.) in the lecture hall of the Internationales Wissenschaftsforum Heidelberg (IWH) in Hauptstrasse 242, 69117 Heidelberg.
HGGS CERTIFICATES AND NEW DOCTORAL PROJECTS
On this day, the HGGS, with its more than 100 doctoral candidates from 35 countries, will introduce itself to all interested members of Heidelberg University. In the first part of the programme, recent graduates will receive the HGGS Certificate. Then, selected new doctoral candidates of the HGGS, who represent the broad spectrum of innovative junior research at Heidelberg University, will showcase their interdisciplinary dissertation projects in a short format. Afterwards, we cordially invite you to a discussion round and to exchange ideas with HGGS members and faculty members.
KEYNOTE LECTURE BY PROFESSOR MARTA FANASCA, BOLOGNA
After the first part, we would like to invite you to the keynote lecture »Commodified Intimacy for Women in Contemporary Japan and the Concept of Iyashi« by Profofessor Marta Fanasca of the University of Bologna. The lecture and presentations will be held in English.
There will be a social gathering after 12:30 pm at the IWH. We would be delighted to welcome all interested doctoral candidates and faculty members at our Winter Forum!
