About the Colloquium
HGGS members are invited to present their doctoral projects at the Interdisciplinary Research Colloquium. Participation is kindly required of all members in their 1st year and in their 2nd or 3rd year. Guests are welcome. Colloquium presentations normally focus on individual doctoral projects, initial chapters or work-in-progress. Members can also try out new ideas and concepts at the colloquium.
As all HGGS members will be speaking to peers from different research cultures, however, speakers make sure to
- explain key concepts of their discipline,
- discuss the methodology of their work,
- highlight the interdisciplinary approaches or connections of their project.
Presentations are in English to allow our international members to participate in all meetings. If one´s working language is German, presenters may use German ppt-slides and explain them as far as possible in English. The HGGS can assist with translations. The audience will have a chance to ask questions at the end of the presentation and to make constructive criticism. Presentations are thus limited to 15 minutes, followed by 15-20 minutes of discussion.
Please note the dates for our colloquium in your calendar:
Tuesdays, 12:15 – 13:30 (s.t.).
initial dates: 28 April – 5 May – 12 May – 19 May – 26 May 2026.
Further dates will be announced later this semester.
Colloquium Programme, Summer Semester 2026
